Doris is a board certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing degree at Walden University in Minneapolis, MN. She has worked as a psych nurse for the past 10 years both in an inpatient and residential treatment settings. She is committed to providing culturally competent care and incorporates the individual’s developmental and bio-psycho-social histories in her treatment approach with a view on holistic care. She has experience working with adolescents, adults, and older adults struggling with mood disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADD and ADHD, eating disorders, trauma, substance abuse disorders, and other co-occurring mental disorders. Owing to the abstract nature and presentation of mental health conditions, she believes the patient is integral to a successful treatment outcome and hence employs the patient-centered model in her evaluation and treatment recommendations.
