Experiential therapy is a category of therapy designed to help patients dive deep into their past experiences. This therapeutic approach encourages patients to identify and address hidden or subconscious issues through activities such as guided imagery, the use of props, role playing and a range of other active experiences in order to process bottom-up through emotions. EMDR
A form of therapy in which the person being treated is asked to recall distressing images; the therapist then directs the client in one type of bilateral sensory input, such as side-to-side eye movements or hand tapping
Somatic Experiencing
A form of alternative therapy aimed at relieving the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder and other mental and physical trauma-related health problems by focusing on the client’s perceived body sensations.
Nuero-Affective Relational Model
a method of psychotherapy specifically aimed at treating attachment, relational and developmental trauma, otherwise referred to as “Complex Trauma” (Complex-PTSD or C-PTSD).
Somatic Psychotherapy
a type of therapy developed to treat trauma and regulate the autonomic nervous system. The SE therapist, uses touch to more directly intervene with the client’s nervous system.
Acceptance Commitment Therapy
ACT develops psychological flexibility and is a form of behavioral therapy that combines mindfulness skills with the practice of self-acceptance.
